On August 23 2019, CRADLE welcomed Professor Daniel Ansari from the Department of Psychology and Brain Mind Institute, Western University and Paul Kirschner from Open University of the Netherlands to speak about topics in the Science of Learning, as part of the CRADLE Connects seminar series. Prof Ansari gave an insightful talk about the development and learning of mathematic skills, and whether this could be related to a model of reading. Prof Kirschner shared his extensive experience as an Educational Psychologist and gave an engaging talk about neuroscience myths that remain prominent and commonly practiced in the education sector. Both talks sparked fruitful discussions amongst colleagues from across Nanyang Technological University, National University Singapore, and National Institute of Education. We hope to welcome both Professor Ansari and Professor Kirschner back to Singapore in the future.
