The Centre for Research and Development in Learning at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (CRADLE@NTU) seeks applications for the position of Research Scientist for up to a 3-year term (renewable).
Candidates who possess an earned doctorate in the following fields are invited to apply:
• Adult learning (including higher education)
• Science of learning (Psychology, pedagogy, and learning)
This is an excellent opportunity for outstanding scholars to engage in a dynamic research centre to advance our research goals in developing pedagogical innovations in a university setting. As pioneer research scientists in CRADLE@NTU, you have opportunities to participate in these activities:
• Conceptualise and develop new models of learning (including assessment) based on strong theoretical foundations.
• Engage in empirical research with NTU colleagues to validate these good designs and pedagogies, including assessments.
• Share research findings with colleagues in NTU to scale up good practices
Successful candidates are expected to engage in conceptualizing and developing innovative teaching and learning approaches in higher education or adult learning contexts, and conducting research on the effectiveness of these practices. Effort in securing external grant funding is expected.
• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g. Adult Learning, Higher Education, Science of Learning)
• Excellent communication (oral and scientific writing in English) and interpersonal skills.
Candidates who have experience teaching or conducting research related to teaching and learning in higher education are preferred.
