Biographical Profile
Betsy received her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She researched on student motivation and learning in numerous secondary schools for her PhD research. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) from NTU and a Master of Education (MEd) from University of Sheffield. Prior to her MEd, she obtained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Melbourne.
 
Driven by her strong interest in education, Betsy has taken on various roles in the educational sector. She has worked as an education specialist, polytechnic lecturer, science editor, and educator in a range of educational settings. She began her career in education research in 2009, and now has over 20 peer-reviewed articles and conference paper presentations in the areas of experiential learning, science education, and educational psychology.
 
She was also tapped by international learning-focused journals such as the Asia-Pacific Forum on Science Learning and Teaching, Journal of Research and Method in Education, Learning and Individual Differences, and New Waves Educational Research and Development Journal to be a reviewer of contributions.
 
As a Research Scientist in CRADLE@NTU, she is involved as the lead or co-lead in research initiatives on motivation, student perceptions of learning, and educational neuroscience.

Motivation, educational psychology, educational neuroscience, experiential learning, student-teacher relationship, science education, as well as positive and health psychology
